I've been prompted to change my password to a password that meets DOD requirements. What are the requirements?

To meet Department of Defense requirements, each password must:

Registered Users - your new password must contain the following:
* Minimum of 8 characters
* Minimum of one upper case character
* Minimum of one lower case character
* Minimum of one numeric character
* Minimum of one "special" character (#, $, %, &, etc.)
You will be prompted to change your password every 90 days; at least 4 characters must be different when changing passwords.
Site Administrators - your new password must contain the following:

* Minimum of one lower case character
* Minimum of one numeric character
* Minimum of one "special" character (#, $, %, &, etc.)

Why is there an option to log in with my CAC? Is this required? How do I get more information about this?

CAC log in capability will be introduced on 18 July 2012. All users will have the OPTION of associating their CAC with their eMarine profile. All users will still be able to log in with their user ID and password if they prefer to. You must already have an eMarine account to register your CAC with your ID and password. How do I update my Internet Explorer settings to access the eMarine site?

If you are receiving certificate errors when accessing eMarine, update your Internet Explorer Security settings using the following instructions:


  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools -> Internet Options.
  3. Select the "Advanced" tab.
  4. Scroll down to the "Security" section and select the checkboxes for "Use SSL 3.0", "Use TLS 1.0", "Use TLS 1.1", and "Use TLS 1.2".
  5. Deselect the "Use SSL 2.0" option.
  6. Click Apply and then OK.
  7. Close all open browsers and then try to access the site again.
How do I install the ECA Root Certificate?

To install the ECA-ROOT2 certificate:
  1. Right-click on the following link and select "Save Target As":

    https://eca-sw3.orc.com/ca/caCerts/ECA-ROOT2.cer

    You'll be asked where to save the file. Save it to your Desktop.

  2. From the Desktop, right-click on the certificate and select "Install Certificate."

  3. When the Certificate Installation Wizard starts, click "Next."

  4. The wizard asks you where to store the certificate, leave it at the default setting of "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of the certificate" and click "Next."

  5. After installation, click "Finish."
Please note that this only installs the certificate for the current user of the computer. Each user of the computer will need to do the same steps.
How can I change the language?

The language can be changed by selecting your desired language using the Lanuage drop down list. The list is located at the bottom right corner or each eMarine page.
I can't find my unit site. What should I do?

Please contact your unit Family Readiness Officer for help locating your unit site and subscribing to eMarine.
I've entered my sponsor's information in the Sponsor Search fields but no results are returned. What should I do?

Make sure you are entering the full first and last name of your sponsor. For example, if the first name of your sponsor is Christopher, don't enter Chris. If you have verified you are using the correct first and last name and DOB, please contact your unit Family Readiness Officer for assistance.
